How much do presentations cost?

All of our ThinkUKnow Australia presentations are delivered free of charge by volunteers from law enforcement and industry.

Can anyone book a presentation?

ThinkUKnow Australia parent, carer and teacher presentations can be booked for any organisation, community group, sporting club or other group.

ThinkUKnow Australia student presentations can be organised for schools. Youth organisations will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

When will my ThinkUKnow Australia presentation be confirmed?

For parent, carer and teacher presentations, the ThinkUKnow Booking Centre will confirm your presentation approximately three weeks prior to the nominated presentation date, however, depending on your location it can take some time to identify a presenter in your location (especially during peak periods).

For student presentations, this will be advised by State and Territory police pending availability.

How many parents, carers and teachers can a school or organisation invite to a ThinkUKnow Australia presentation?

There is no limit on the number of people you can invite to adult presentations. We do encourage you to consider:

  • Venue capacity
  • Ability to address individual questions within the allocated timeframe

Is there a preferred number of students for a ThinkUKnow Australia presentation?

Your school police liaison officer will be able to advise you on their preferences for delivering student presentations.

What do host schools/community groups/organisations need to provide for presentations?

We request that you supply a venue with a computer and audio visual facilities to run a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation.

When do ThinkUKnow Australia presentations run?

ThinkUKnow Australia sessions are available year round.

It is recommended that presentations for parents, carers and educators are organised outside of school hours to ensure the availability of participants, as well as our volunteers.

Presentations during business hours might be suitable for some community groups or organisations and are subject to availability.

How long do parent, carer and educator presentations take?

Our sessions generally run for 60 minutes, however we recommend you allow for 90 minutes with questions.

How long do student presentations take?

The presentations will generally run for 45 minutes, however we recommend allowing an extra 15 minutes for questions and further discussion.

What content is covered in the parent, carer and educator presentations?

ThinkUKnow Australia provides a balanced perspective of technology, providing information on both its benefits and its challenges.

Topics included within the presentation are specifically aimed at educating and increasing awareness about online child sexual exploitation including avoiding inappropriate contact, online grooming, self-generated content, sexual extortion and how to get help.

What content is covered in the student presentations?

ThinkUKnow Australia presentations for students are aligned to the Australian curriculum to ensure they are age-appropriate and relevant to students’ learning.

Topics included within the presentation are specifically aimed at educating and increasing awareness about online child sexual exploitation including avoiding inappropriate contact, online grooming, self-generated content, sexual extortion and how to get help.

Can I film a ThinkUKnow Australia presentation?

Filming is not allowed without prior permission from ThinkUKnow Australia and requests are considered on a case-by-case basis.

What we do

We develop resources and advice for parents, carers and educators, children and young people to prevent online child sexual exploitation.

Led by the Australian Federal Police, our program includes:

What we don’t do

Our program doesn’t cover:

  • Information about general online safety, including cyberbullying
  • Information about cybercrime
