Any personal information collected by the AFP on this site is protected by the Privacy Act 1988.  We will keep the information which you send in a secure environment and will use it only for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law. Any personal information collected by the AFP will be collected, used and disclosed in accordance with the AFP Privacy Policy

 

We will only record your email address if you send us a message.  The address you supply will be used only for the purpose for which you have provided it, and will not be disclosed or added to a mailing list without your consent.

 

We will also collect the following information from the student and carer/parent presentation forms:

  • Organisation name

  • Postal address
  • Contact person
  • Email
  • Phone number(s)
  • reason for requesting a presentation/booking comments

 

This information will be collected by the AFP and disclosed to our partners for the purpose of facilitating ThinkUKnow presentations. This information will be stored on a third-party product. The third-party will not have access to any of the information.

 

We will also collect the following information when you register an account for, and use the presenter portal:

  • Name
  • Email 
  • Username and password 
  • Organisation
  • State
  • Police agency 
  • District/area/police area command
  • Information you include in the comments

This information will be collected by the AFP and accessible by law enforcement representatives for the purpose of facilitating ThinkUKnow presentations.

 

We will also collect the following information from the volunteer sign-up form:

  • Organisation
  • Name
  • Work email address
  • Postcode
  • Out of hours mobile number
  • Fluent in any other language

This information will be collected by the AFP and disclosed to our partners for the purpose of verifying and approving applications. This information will be stored on a third-party product. The third-party will not have access to any of the information.

 

You are reminded that messages sent from this site over the Internet are not secure.

What we do

We develop resources and advice for parents, carers and educators, children and young people to prevent online child sexual exploitation.

Led by the Australian Federal Police, our program includes:

What we don’t do

Our program doesn’t cover:

  • Information about general online safety, including cyberbullying
  • Information about cybercrime
